Direct impact: 1,130 young people
Since our first project launched in 2015, we have worked with 1,130 adolescents in Rwanda as direct beneficiaries of our programs, with the majority of those being adolescent girls. This work has yielded significant and measurable results in terms of growth in knowledge and self-confidence, as well as tremendous positive shifts in attitudes and behaviours related to gender, equality and violence.
Indirect impact: 4,980+ individuals
Through our community engagement model, including youth-led clubs, we have also influenced parents, siblings, peers, teachers, local leaders and others to change their mindsets and behaviours around gender and violence.
1,203 hours of training and mentoring
We have engaged adolescent girls and boys in over 1,203 hours of in-depth capacity building education, coaching and mentoring, transforming hearts and minds on an individual and collective level, and fostering attitudes and beliefs about equality and non-violence that will stand the test of time.
Reached all provinces
Our work has reached all five of Rwanda’s provinces through an advocacy campaign sponsored by the European Union, and directly engaged both rural and urban youth and their communities in 2 provinces.
In Feb-March 2024, we also reached 3 provinces and Kigali city through an awareness campaign titled “Break the Silence on Consent Through Art” funded by Kvinna Till Kvinna and Ambassade de France au Rwanda.
Diverse collaborative influence
We have worked with a wide variety of other organizations, including universities, local and international NGOs and grassroots CSOs, helping to build their foundational knowledge around gender, feminism, violence, leadership and community activism.
10+ years of activism
Since our official founding in 2014, we have been engaging and inspiring young people for over 10 years to take action, speak out against violence, and transform the gender norms within their own lives and communities.
